I don't really have anything against marriage for other people, as the little joke in my title would suggest, but I have plenty against marriage for me. It just doesn't make sense anymore to me. I know we probably needed it around way back in the day, but now, all it seems to me to be is a legal nightmare if one day you wake up and decide to leave (but I also realize the decision to leave never really happens overnight). Some people would say I was just scared of commitment, but I say everyone should be scared of commitment...it's a commitment! Heehee...but I'm not scared of being in a relationship, long-term or short-term, so I've lived pretty happily over the years, and I'll always have people who care about me in my life, so getting married is not on the top of my bucket list.
